Book came in good condition a lot of good information in it would strongly recommend
This book definitely qualifies as a Bible and with new growers in mind. Super concise explanations and very informative. Rosenthal is hands down the godfather but this is right there with him. As long as you have some sense and are willing to do some homework then you can achieve Dr. Greenthumb status.
This book is perfect for the Novice to Expert. Most every question I had it was able to answer. I used it as my guide for my first grow and everything is looking really fantastic. I really liked the set-up of the book, when having to double check information for reference, it was not a simple matter of checking the index and thumbing to the page (good for a starting point) but rather having to re-read some information to find what I actually wanted. I liked this method as I learned and retained much more. BTW I have read the book cover to cover twice now and will read it again I am sure. There seems to always be something more to be learned from this book.
I know allot of people said this book wasn't much help. But I found it very informative. There's allot I didn't know that this book helped me learn. Yes it's definitely not a guide on how to grow but I would without a doubt recommend it to learn allot of good info. Especially how to identify males n females and about pests and nutrients. I don't think there's a good guide on the market. As there shouldn't be. You get 20 growers to tell you how to grow. . . You'll end up with 20 different ways to grow cannabis. There's no specific way. Learn on your own by trial and error.
Not a bad book. It covers a lot of territory but needs updating; and have they ever thought of employing an editor to pull styles together and correct errors?
The quick start guide is helpful to get your bearings. The growing guides are helpful, but it would be nice to have a discussion of outdoor container growing.
There are a number of pages and a couple of chapters devoted to history and genetics that is wasted space, imo. There is almost no space devoted to LED lighting; nor is there any space devoted to legal non commercial outdoor grows. Things have changed. It’s not 1990 anymore.
Despite the criticisms, it is a valuable survey of a lot of areas. However, by the third edition, more bugs should have been worked out and updated.
